Diffusion Pharmaceuticals LLC, a privately-held company, was founded in February 2001 by Dr. John Gainer and David Kalergis. To date, the company has been funded through private equity investments supplemented by non-dilutive government funding, specifically from our military partner the Office of Naval Research (ONR), and in 2010 the Company was awarded $244,479 as part of the Qualifying Therapeutic Discovery Project Tax Credit/Grant Program.

Since 2004, the company has raised more than $21.3 million in private funds and has received $2.6 million in Department of Defense R&D contracts and awards for a total of $23.9 million support to date.
