Diffusion Pharmaceuticals LLC, a privately-held company, was founded in February 2001 by Dr. John Gainer and David Kalergis. To date, the company has been funded through private equity investments supplemented by non-dilutive government funding, specifically from our military partner the Office of Naval Research (ONR).

Since 2004, the company has raised more than $19.1 million in private funds and has received $2.6 million in Department of Defense R&D contracts for a total of $21.7 million support to date.
